Absolute encoders provide position information for a rotating shaft within either a single rotation (single turn) or over the course of multiple rotations (multi-turn). The encoder provides a unique digital code or bit for each increment of shaft rotation. Multi-turn absolute encoders store turns-counting information for instant retrieval, even after power down.
EPC offers both single-turn and multi-turn absolute encoders in shaft styles, blind hollow bore, and thru-bore, with a variety of housing sizes, bore diameters, signal types and resolutions.
